Body Wrap Treatments
Body wraps have been around for thousands of years, dating back to the Ancient Egyptians. They are a proven, powerful, product that can be imp lemented in tanning salons, spas like the Athenaeum Spa in Malta , or massage therapy clinics.
A body wrap treatment may vary depending on where you are receiving your treatment and what type of result that you are trying to achieve. Body wraps are generally great at hydrating the skin, riding the body of toxins, and helping to lose inches in water weight. The primarily product used in a body wrap usually consists of either mud, clay, algae, seaweed, lotion, cream or aloe with essential oils and/or herbs designed to revitalize the body.
This product is applied to the body - except the genital and breast areas which are covered - and then you are wrapped in a Mylar sheet, plastic sheet, towels, or linen sheets depending upon the service. A contouring wrap will use bandages or a tightly wrapped sheet instead. Your body will generate heat and warmth while you are wrapped for twenty minutes as this allows time for the product to be absorbed into your body for the maximum effect.
The Athenaeum Spa in Malta offer treatment s where you're slathered with a body mask made of algae, seaweed, mud, clay, lotion or cream, then wrapped for 20 minutes to keep you warm. Later the product is rinsed off. The body wrap usually ends with an application of lotion (technically not a massage). This body wrap treatment is sometimes called a body cocoon or body mask.
Body wraps are relaxing and cleansing treatments that encourage "totally letting go". At the Athenaeum Spa in Malta, wraps usually take place in a special room, where body coatings can be removed more easily in a private shower. Some spas even have a tent that steams you. In addition, you will need a warm place with a table or bed for you to rest on while the products used have time to make you incredibly smooth and soft.
Body wraps come in any number of moisturizing, aromatic, rejuvenating substances, ranging from purified mud poultices, to honey, mango, apple, and pears, or other fruit mixtures, paraffin wax, aloe gel, or even seaweed.
The body wrap may help improve circulation, stimulate the metabolic system, increases the body's ability to carry waste products for elimination, and assist with skin care issues. It can also give the skin a very healthy, vibrant look. The time spent wrapped is great for stress and tension reduction.
